Eligibility Requirements: This grant helps fund modifications for your home to improve its accessibility and your ability to live in it long term. Applicants must be 60+, low to moderate income, and own (or have family own) and primarily live in the home you are modifying. The amount of grant is based on a sliding income scale.

Type of Aid: Grant
Amount: 50% of eligible repairs to a maximum of $2,000
Eligibility Requirements: This program helps fund necessary repairs for seniors 60+ in their home that are low to moderate income. Applicants most own and reside in their residence. The program only funds major essential repairs necessary to the structure of the building and to the health and safety of the resident. Combined income of applicant and spouse must be less than $35,000 a year.

Type of Aid: Forgivable Loan
Amount: Varies by Program (see below)
Eligibility Requirements: This program provides funding under three separate branches for homeowners who have owned their homes for at least five years, live there as their primary residence, the home is valued at or under $175,000, and they meet eligible income levels defined by each program. Funding goes towards major renovations to sustain the health and safety of the structure and those living within it. You must not have a mortgage payment outstanding greater than two months from the application date, or a tax payment outstanding greater than one year from the application date. Homes must be insured.

Home Renovation Program
Amount: up to $12,000
Requirements: Major repairs necessary to bring the home up to health and safety standards.

Home Renovation Program for Persons with Disabilities
Amount: up to $16,000
Requirements: Major repairs and adaptations necessary to allow a person with a disability to live safely and accessibly within their home.

Emergency Home Repair Program
Amount: up to $6,000
Requirements: An emergency repair is one that is an immediate danger to the occupant’s safety and must be remedied for the occupant to continue living there.
