Type of Aid: Forgivable Loan
Amount: up to $3,500
Eligibility Requirements: This program helps First Nation low-income seniors pay for minor home adaptation to on-reserve primary properties to extend the time they can live independently. Applicants must be 65+ and have difficulty with daily activities brought on by age.

Type of Aid: Forgivable Loan
Amount: Southern Areas of Canada (up to $16,000), Northern Areas of Canada (up to $19,000), NWT, Yukon, Labrador and Northern Quebec (up to $16,000), remote areas may be eligible for an increase by up to 25%
Eligibility Requirements: This program offers funding to First Nations who undertake accessibility work to modify dwellings occupied or intended for occupancy by low-income persons with disabilities. Total household incomes must meet eligible thresholds, and the property must meet minimum health and safety standards.

Type of Aid: Forgivable Loan
Amount: The Assisted Homeownership program provides a maximum forgivable loan (including a maximum of 15% of purchase price as a down payment) of up to $30,000.
Eligibility Requirements: The applicant’s total household income cannot exceed the most recent year’s 60th income percentile. Applicants that have appointed a Power of Attorney or have been appointed a Guardian/Trustee of their personal finances and assets in accordance with the Substitute Decisions Act, 1992, may be eligible if all other eligibility criteria are met.
