Type of Aid: Forgivable Loan / Grant
Amount: NLHC provides funding to eligible homeowners in the form of grants and repayable loans. Funding is limited to the costs associated with repairs. Persons with accessibility needs may receive a forgivable grant of up to $7,500 [$7,500 in Labrador]. Repairs exceeding these levels may be addressed under a repayable loan of up to $10,000 [$13,000 in Labrador].
Eligibility Requirements: Low-to-moderate income homeowners seeking changes to make their homes accessible for persons with disabilities (referral from an Occupational Therapist or appropriate professional is required).
Low-to-moderate income seniors or persons with disabilities requiring home accessibility modifications to their homes (referral from local Community Health board required.
